About

Victory Boxing was set up with the aim of having a positive impact on young kids in the community, teaching them life skills, honesty, respect, determination and to be caring.  In its first year, the programme had 20 children involved.  Since then we have moved to our current premises and due to the popularity and success of the programmes we now have over 500 children registered with us.

However, one of the great strengths of Victory Boxing is expanding to meet a range of needs:

Our youth programmes are open to children between the ages of 8 and 18 years.

Our adult programmes offer 60 minute non-contact fitness classes that use boxing techniques to improve fitness, strength and self esteem.

Specialist adult fitness classes for those with Parkinson's Disease help with balance, co-ordination and strength. They are run with the approval of the Nelson branch of Parkinson's New Zealand, (and as an Approved Provider for Nelson Bays Primary Health).

We are proudly working with Nelson Regional Breast and Gynaecological Cancer Trust providing an exercise class specifically tailored for survivors.  Using boxing techniques, the workout helps improve muscle strength and increases cardiovascular fitness, re-energizing minds and bodies. There are also many benefits from training with others who have a shared understanding.

All our classes are very social and offer a supportive network for the participants.  We’ll work alongside any community group and/or school to offer programmes during the day.  All of our programmes are underpinned by our core values:  Respect, Responsibility, Determination and Caring.
