About
Whakatū Te Korowai Manaakitanga Trust is a kaupapa Māori organisation dedicated to strengthening whānau across Nelson and Te Tauihu. Guided by manaakitanga and kotahitanga, we walk alongside families in times of vulnerability, ensuring they are supported, connected, and empowered to thrive.
We are nationally recognised for our leadership in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) education and support. By equipping parents, schools, and professionals with the knowledge and tools to understand FASD, we reduce stigma and create pathways for tamariki and rangatahi to succeed. Our mahi brings hope, resilience, and real change to whānau who are often overlooked.
Our Trust is committed to building long-term sustainability. Our strategic plan focuses on strengthening partnerships, diversifying income, and embedding culturally grounded, community-led solutions.
Through philanthropic support, Whakatū Te Korowai Manaakitanga Trust will continue to lead in whānau wellbeing and FASD education. Our goal is simple yet vital: to ensure whānau are not left behind, but instead given every opportunity to live with strength, dignity, and self-determination.
Each year, we support hundreds of whānau with wraparound services, equip professionals with training in FASD awareness, and deliver community programmes that foster wellbeing, education, and resilience.
