About
For 165 years, the Nelson Civic Choir has been a cornerstone of Nelson’s musical life, providing a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to learn, sing, and share in the joy of choral music. Our vision is to inspire participation and deepen appreciation for choral music across the Nelson Tasman region, fostering connection through shared artistic experience. As a non-auditioned community choir, we nurture musical, vocal, and performance skills in a positive and inclusive environment. Through regular rehearsals, members deliver inspiring, artistically excellent performances.
Our concerts regularly sell out, reflecting the Choir’s strong community bond and enduring relevance. We welcome philanthropic partnerships that help us deepen our impact—ensuring concerts remain vibrant, financially sustainable, and accessible.
