Since 1992, Gateway Housing Trust has been a cornerstone of the Nelson NGO community, delivering housing and wellbeing support across the top of the South.  Today, our services extend across Nelson, Motueka, West Coast and Marlborough.  Our mission is simple but vital: to support people toward wellbeing and stability in their communities. 

CORE SERVICES:

Housing Support
In partnership with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, we support individuals/ whānau to sustain their tenancies and live well.

• We provide short-term accommodation with wraparound support services.

• This includes both Gateway-owned homes and properties leased from private landlords and Kāinga Ora.

Mental Health Services
Mental wellbeing is central to our work.  In partnership with Health NZ we deliver:

• The Shed in Motueka  - A trusted day programme offering connection and support.

• Hāpai Te Ora in Blenheim – Our planned crisis respite service will provide short-term residential care in a safe & therapeutic environment.

Youth Services
We support at-risk rangatahi through one-on-one mentoring and goal setting.

• Referrals come via community organisations, schools, Police and Oranga Tamariki.

• Our focus is on empowering rangatahi to make positive life choices and build brighter futures.
