About

Empowering Communities, One Conversation at a Time
Citizens Advice Bureau Nelson Tasman connects people to the help they need, when they need it most. Local volunteers with a commitment to fairness and dignity, empower clients with free, confidential information, often helping resolve issues before they escalate.

Whether clients are navigating tenancy problems, accessing social services, resolving workplace disputes, or simply needing someone to listen, our people provide a unique lifeline during challenging times.

What sets us apart is our grassroots strength. Our volunteers receive thorough initial training and meet monthly to stay informed. They identify emerging issues, bridge gaps, and speak for those who often go unheard. The insights gathered through our service help shape decisions at both local and national levels—driving lasting change for all Kiwis.

For 40 years, we’ve delivered a high-quality, low-cost service in Nelson Tasman, supported by local grants and donations. Investing in CAB means investing in equity, resilience, and the Kiwi spirit of looking out for one another.
